1992 Maxima - Climate control display and Bose radio questions
I have read some threads about the above issues and have tried to follow links from related posts but the links no longer work --I assume because of how old they are ????
I have an automatic climate control which works except for the display screen - at times you can barely see part of the screen but most of the time it is dark. Does anyone have a fix for this issue short of replacing the entire unit? I read something about soldering but it was not a very good description.
The Bose radio issue concerns the volume output - the radio turns on and display works but you can only barely hear the output - if I open the trunk I can hear the music output but the volume will not increase. I have read threads about issues with the Bose system - is there anything I can try before replacing the entire system?
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the specifics of either system, but I can make some educated guesses.
As for the climate control, does anything change if you tap on it? Chances are the board has dead or dying capacitors that need to be replaced. Unless you're skilled with working on circuit boards, your best bet would be to find someone who repairs them for a living.
As for the Bose, I wouldn't waste any effort or money trying to repair it. Rip out the headunit and speakers and install new parts. Chances are the speakers are toast too, since I think they have integrated amplifiers.
