Flashing CEL

I have a 1992 maxima with 78k miles, and it has a flashing CEL. it’s only sometimes, and my car seems like it takes way longer to start then it should. i’ve had issues with the fuel pump before, the sending unit would leak out the top and i’m not sure if it has something to do with that or not. I also have a super big hole in my flex pipe, and i only got 160 miles on a full tank. PLEASE HELP!!

I know 4th gens, so don't take what I say as gospel. A flashing CEL usually means that you have one or more fuel injectors that is malfunctioning. This can be confirmed and is stated in the 4th gen FSM. Perhaps look in the 3rd gen FSM to see if the same is true.

You need to start by decoding the check engine light. There are extensive tutorials on how to do that. The ECU is behind the center console, under the dash. All you need is a screwdrive, and you'll get the CEL to flash. You then count the flashes, and decode them. That will give you a great starting point.
