Did your 3rd gen come with....

I just came across this page and saw this 94 GXE. Obviously these pics must have been taken when the car was brand new...I wonder if I can ever get my car to look that new again
http://www.motorcities.com/contents/01HJF223350211.html
There's something different about this max...Can you see what I'm talking about in these pics?
you get two guesses and the second one doesnt count.

You know what, you're right. I looked at it and thought it said 7,778. Ya the thing I noticed was the black molding, and it kinda looks like black window trim too Car is in nice shape tho

Things that I notice is that the O/D light is on the gauge verses how it's next to airbag thing, maybe it's an SE thing. The door mouldings and unpainted side moulding. The door mouldings are soo ugly I hate those things. Also in the engine bay the acc valve or whatever you call it on top of the EGR vlave is kinda an army color verses the brass color of mine.

Kinda random, but I just realized that the font on the 89-91 GXE gauges are different on the 92-94 GXE gauges!

BTW: Pics were found HERE

Between the intake manifold and the intake tract just to the upper left of the Battery with two plug-wire looking cables coming out of it?

Never seen it before in my life (I have a manual).

Yup.. I was going to mention the valve on the manifold too... I wondered if it was an ABS thing, but it doesn't have ABS.

another weird thing is that it's got the SE paint job.. black strip on the bottom- unless that was on all champagne maxes (Brandon's 90GXE has that also)..

Also note the small aluminum pipe that runs across the firewall and to somewhere near the MAFS.

?????

I wonder if it's a CA emissions thing.

After showing that to Kaleb, he confirmed the CA thing.

those parts ONLY came on 94 Maximas with CA emissions. They were on VGs and VEs.

heheh I haven't vacuumed the car since I bought it... well strike that. Kelly did in November for me. she dumped a Crappuchino in the pass floorboard and I made her shampoo the carpets to clean it up

still smells like chocolate on really hot days. guess it could be worse.

But yes, Z seats will be going in sometime before long. I'm goign to try and find a better way than I did last time, as the brackets weren't very pretty. going to have to weld new brackets. no big deal, but it's very time consuming.

Maximus... if there was a VE 5 spd out there that clean, I would have bought it instead of this beat up POS! believe me... I had $9k sitting in the bank for 4 months trying to find one between chicago and Houston. never happened.

the pink and white crap are the ratchet assemblies for the seat belt. when you unbuckle the seatbelt, there's a spring in there that wraps the belt around inside those assemblies (like a tape measure). when you pull them out too fast or tilt the car, or otherwise move some parts inside it, the ratchets lock, preventing the belt from coming out... this is what glues you in place if you're evern in a wreck. handy little guys, aren't they?

if you could see the bottom of them, the colors are opposite on the other side. each side (left and right) have a white end and a pink end. since they're designed to face opposite directions, you have pink on top on one, and white on top on the other.

but simply said, they're part of the seat belt mechanism.

I know how hard 5 speed VE's are to find, I had to drive 2 hours for mine after I wrecked my 5 speed VG two years ago. What's crazy though is that my friend came down last weekend from school to look for a new car, and we just went out to a dealer and bought a near perfect dark blue 93 SE 5 speed - no scratches, dings, fully-functioning VTC's, etc.. All for only $4300.

Ahh... okay! I was just used to the idea of those things being in the side pillars or rocker area

LOL!!
screw that.. I still pull 14s with it all in there. but then again, that crap only takes about 45 min to remove.. I might oughta pull it all out one night and see how I do. I bet if I add all the weight back on in stickers, I'll be running 12s easy.

I just thought of a dumb idea...I wounder what it would look like with a 4th gen center console!! probably not possible, but it would be cool to have real cupholders

first question is why the hell would you install a big chunk of cheap looking, squeaky plastic just for some cupholders?

If you want something that annoying, you can just get a 7 yr old little bro/sis to ride shotgun and hold your drinks for you.
