ftsb is large and in charge

anywayz its on and the front end is more crisp and direct, like some have said the back feels pretty ****ay now that the front is stiffened, installation was a quick 15 minutes, i guess there are not many more cheap bolt-ons out there for the 3rd gen poor me PEACE

Once again, excuse my ignorance and/or stupidity but what is the ftsb for?

actually it's FSTB (front strut tower brace)
connects the 2 shock towers and improves cornering

since you have the VE, they dont make one for us, but the Maxima 1999-2002 Courtesy/Extreme Nissan bar does fit, www.courtesyparts.com for prices and ordering

I really like mine, if you want pics, go to my cardomain page (http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/craigbrace) and look at any of my engine shots, it's the metal bar going across the top above the manifold

noleafclover, although you have the VG engine on your GXE I'd still recommend the 5th Gen Courtesy brace. (I posted a thread about this months ago.) Yes, the much cheaper generic 4th Gen FSTB will bolt on, but the bracket's arm will try to occupy the same space as the AC hose that's nearby on the passenger's side. You can either tie it back and move it out of the way, or just buy the 5th Gen brace and do it trouble free. My 2 cents.

EDIT: Happy birthday too!

i got mine through custommaxima.com it was cheap enough and marketed as a vg strut bar, im sure you could find on cheeper if you invested time but i had some leftover credit to spend with them it took about 10 minutes start to finish, with the majority of the time spent lining up the holes using the adjustable screws, no fitment issues

Congratulations! I just put an adjustable aluminum one on two weeks ago. Feels great on highways and freeway on/off ramps. Makes cornering feel much smoother and more stable/straight.

StealthMax sold me mine. It wasn't too expensive and works. He may have some more coming in. Email him. He had a thread about it 2 or 3 weeks ago.
