i've searched and i can't find the answer...is the auto tranny from a 90 gxe the same as one from a 90 se...if not what is different...thanks

both 90 gxe or se.. had the same engine and same tranny

 

The Trannys are probably the same REF402(?) but the ENGINES are
defineately different:

by the way..both of em suck !! I had to rebuild mine at 120k

gxe : sohc - 160 hp

se: dohc - 190 hp

The engine and the tranny are the same because they dint come out with the DOHC engine until 92' and they only put it in the se. The sohc is an awesome engine i have 186,000 on mine and its still smoking people. I just ate up a 2001 mazda 626 v6, and a punk in a 2002 sunbird, and im straight stock with the auto.

 

oh cool...I didn't know they came out wid that after 92

 

thanks bros...yeah they do suck my tranny went at 120 k on my 90 se...im tryin to decide whether i should get it rebuilt or buy a used one
