Hi,

I have an 89 Maxima, exported from Japan to NZ. Cost $5NZ!
I have a fault with passanger window lock switch on drivers door. This is the switch that kills power to passenger windows to stop kids playing with them. When turning on ignition, I have power to passenger windows and can wind up/down. Press lock switch once and it kills power and windows stop working as they should. press switch again and power stays off! But, If I switch the ignition off for about 10 minutes, power is restored to windows, until I press switch again. Any ideas? Faulty flip-flop switch?

Also: where can I find wiring diagram for windows/stereo?

Stereo ( non-bose) front and rear channels seem combined, i.e. cannot just have rear speakers pumping out sound at the moment?

...AND....this car is 100% std, what would be the most useful first modification in 1= looks 2= performance?

AND LOVE MY CAR!

very strange indeed. Sounds like some kind of grounding problem. In my Maxima, the power window lockout switch locks out all the windows - including the driver window. That's how they are here. I would start with the switch if I were you.

My switch seems to be out of order

and I cannot catch any signs of its functioning.
I have two kids, so the switch is important for me.
Any ideas how to diagnose/fix?

Thanks in advance,
DDD

yeah i'd say its the switch. you always want to start with the cheapest thing when dealing with a problem so i'd say check the switch first of all.
