new engine needed

I've got an 89 5 speed with 235,000 miles and still running strong. As you can tell I need a new engine to put in this bad-boy. If anyone has good links to used engines or knows someone who is selling one, please tell me. Can I fit 4th or 5th generation engines with out too much trouble? What about 300z twin turbo?

i'd stick with ur same engine
the 300 zx is mounted diffently, so unless you wanna convert it to rwd, or maybe you should talk to the guy that does.

Re: new engine needed

Try checking Ebay often. If you check Ebay, go to "Cars, Trucks, Parts" link, on the left hand side. Then when the next page comes up, go to, "Parts: Cars and Trucks" link. Then enter "Maxima" in the space provided and hit search. I became an Ebay junky for a while on Max parts. They don't always have engines but I catch a few Transmissions here and there. I would like to get another engine too so I could rebuild the other, my way. Not sure if 4th Gen will work but let me know what you come up with. There are plenty of search engines out there but I usually use google.com and get good results.

I've got one with 120k in my parts car that's in good shape.. only problem is shipping will eat you alive. it's $200-300 from Oklahoma to Georgia, depending on whether it's going to business or residential. not cheap so ship something this big!

so you're saying you've got a guy within driving distance that's selling his, and you want a price from me, 2500 miles away?

the shipping charges alone will be more than you can buy the whole engine for up there.
probably 300+ just for shipping.

I think you're a little confused Matt, unless this first guy mentioned somewhere else that he is in GA, his profile says Washington

also, the second guy who replied with the engine in NY is different from the first guy

I mentioned GA as a reference, as I actually called a freightliner and got estimates from here to GA. from here to WA will probably be a little more than from here to GA.
the second guy that asked had NYC in his sig.. so one would assume........
