Does anyone know if leather seats for a 1998 maxima will fit in a 3rd generation?

 

don't think so

 

mabey the front two. but I know not even all 3rd gen seats are the same, because when i switched the seats from the stock 92 se to some other year max (i bought the seats,not sure from what year 3rd gen) the front seat floor mounts werent the same and I had to bend one side on each seat's floor mount down, and my old back seat was wider because this one doesnt fill out as much on the sides.

 

4th gen seats won't fit in a 3rd gen. a few people have measured the tracks before.


I've got 89 seats in my 93. the fronts dropped right in, and so did the back seat.. but the back is about 1.5-2" narrower than the old one, so there's a bit of a gap on the edges. weird, but at least it's consistent with what N34JZ said. Kinda weird that they physically widened the interior of the car during the model run.

 

I imagine 89-91 stuff should be similar, but I'm not 100% sure (for instance I think the mirrors changed). But 89-91 and 92-94 seem to be lumped together for when they had all the "major" cosmetic changes for the 3rd gen.
