Why do people have to do this?

Well last night when I got out of work at midnight, I noticed that someone(s) tried to break into my car by smashing the window. It looks like they also tried to pry it down or something 'cause there are marks at the top. Luckily my stereo stuff or anything at all was taken. They must of been freaked off. Now I have to get it fixed and re-tinted. Oh well, I guess it happend all over the place, I just thought it would never happen to me. There's a link to the pic below.

It's just rookie kids. If it was anyone that knew what they were doing, your stereo would be gone. But then again, if some pros did it, they usually don't trash your car in the process. I've seen some car where they set the 1/4 down on the ground w/o breaking it and they removed all the trim pieces w/o breaking them.

Hmm, strangely enough that might be something to say about professionalism... Then again if they're after your CAR and not just the stereo it'd be worse.

But overall I'd have to say punk-*** amatuers are the worst because they destroy lots of things to get to (whatever they're lifting; stereo, spare change, bag of Doritos, etc) and sometimes even TRY to screw it up. Remember that guy with the MELTED WINDSHEILD?

Yeah I know, people like that need to get a life or something. I guess that I'm PRETTY lucky considering they didnt take my jacket, cell phone or stereo system, or even my car. I feel bad for people who have had worse happen to them. Anyways, it'll hopefully all be fixed soon.

Me too...

Only mine, they busted the windshield and destroyed the passenger side window. Must have been kids because anyone with half a braincell knows you can't just bust through a windshield with a rock. It would all be worth it if I could just find out who did it...

That is unbelievably awful. Break something and go.

Makes you want to break something of theirs:
the maxilla, perhaps.

Sounds like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. I agree though.

Why'd you have the lock key to your lugs in the car?

Anyways....my car has been broken into five times since I've had it. Cd-player stolen 3 times, and my full system stolen once (still havent replaced it). Much of my molding is all jacked up from people trying to pry into it...

Ya, that would be nice (like one of those proposed "low-threat" budget bullet-proof window jobs armourers are talking about), but then again if you get in an accident and have to rely on a nice fireman or fellow motorist to yank you from the wreckage before the car explodes ( ) you'd be out of luck. Also if you hit your head on it. There are some reasons the side glass is tempered and not laminated like the windsheild.

I must say I still like this idea tho!

Hey, I'm located in Vermont :-) Thanks anyways for the window, but my window is being fixed today at Glass of America. Luckily my insurance covers it and I only have to pay the deductible. And I still have to pay for the tint out of my own pocket.

My deductible was only $100, but I only had to pay $50, because I have a friend that works at Nissan and I guess that the Nissan here does a lot of business with Glass America. So I got a $50 discout which is great. Plus the company I work for is going to pay any expenses that I have to pay for myself. Since this all happened at work. But it's cool that they're doing this.
