oil
I used Mobil regular oil in my 89 Toyota Truck and it had 165K trouble free miles before I got rid of it. It is more important to CHANGE the oil regardless of brand. I could use K-Mart oil and if I made sure it was changed regularly should have no problems. I'm not saying that buying brand-X over brand-Y is a bad thing if X is chaeper and Y protects better I would use Y because I don't always get to changing the oil right on time. I personally use Penzoil Synthetic Blend. I have 144K and no problems so far. It is also important to use a good filter. Do a search and you should be able to find a link to a site about different oil filter brands and their internals.
Good Luck

very cold - flows better
very hot - still provides protection
not really good to switch too often. but changing back and forth is ok.
Mobil-1 is good IMO.
This should help answer your question

Full synthetic is the best. But it is expensive. Over $4/bottle here. I used a synth blend (Castrol Syntec Blend) for the life of my '91 SE. And got over 300,000 trouble-free (the engine at least
) miles out of it before I sold it last year.
A blend is a good compromise if cost is a factor for you.

No one would really see a difference unless they compared it to about 50,000 of mileage or if they were using it w/ severe duty(ie.. sc/turbo/nos)

oil change - amsoil - vg30e
guys - have a very basic question (couldnt find it via search, amazing!)
I have a 93 VG30E Max...I'm looking to change the oil to Amsoil.
Looking for answers...(FSM ?)
1. How much oil will I need to put in 4/5 qts?
2. What grade of Oil (I live in Atlanta) 10w30 ?
3. Which Oil Filter will work best with Amsoil? Nissan or Amsoil?
thanks !
