I replaced mine recently, though the instructions were good it didn't work quite that easy. I could not thread it through the top. I had to take the motor out and disconnect the long shaft. I then had to install the new antenna through the shaft and the white cord into the motor, then connecting them together. The new antenna had a lip on the bottom of it that won't fit just feeding it through the top. Works great now.
