I've decided I'm going to rebuild my tranny, but I'm not sure which kit applies to my 92 SE.

I've been looking over drivetrain.com, and found this listing of kits for the Max. Anyone know which one is for a 92 SE w/ lsd? since there is nothing listed for that one?

Get the best one you can find. Do it right while your in there. Why skimp and have to take it all apart again?

 

Oh, I totally understand that, I'm not trying to skimp. I guess basically what I'm trying to get at is which Transmission is the 92SE w/lsd? the RS5F50A? or RS5F50V? Or is it completely different and these guys are way off?

Umm, I'm not actually sure whether I have VLSD or not. I get posi when I spin, but when I turn and goose it the inside tire spins, I thought VLSD's were supposed to eliminate that.

 

The one way I resured my self about the lsd is when I go up(its up hill) this dirt driveway and feel the power going side to side. I also noticed it is not the best LSD design because I never noticed it but I did notice I was leaving only on strip in dirt once and thats when I figured out that the axle moved out of place. I hope with this new tranny I have it will work great. Were is this code on the tranny so I can make sure I have the lsd one? Also why do people say that some 3rd gen SEs did not have the VLSD? I love looking at my maxs old window sticker and its about the same price new as the 2k ones. The guy before me paid about $26k for it
