In my bother-inlaws car has kind-of like a **** or a rotten egg smell coming out of the vents i think. i tuned up the car. clean out the intire vent system. and it is still there. could this be from the cat. converter? any thoughts?

if it's coming out the vents, then it's probably nothign to do with the exhaust.

when you say you cleaned out the vent system, did you do just the inside fo the car or outside too?

try pouring a disinfectant of some sort in the vents on the cowl (the black thing just in front of the windsheild). they tend to get gunk in them and sometimes mildew and smell really nasty. use either lysol or a 1/2 & 1/2 bleach+ water mix or something like that.

let it sit in there for 5-10 minutes, then rinse really well with water. see if that fixes your problems.
