WIRING HARNESS FOR HIDs

i have a 1992 maxima, and have used a few different pairs of 9004 blue HIDs. after several months of use, the high wattage of the headlights fries my wiring harness and one or sometimes both of my headlights will not work, and i need to buy new stock headlight adapters. i know there are kits available that up the power capacity of your car, enabling one to use these newer, blueish headlights. does anyone know a reputable place to get such a kit for a reasonable price? and some place other than ebay because i already have looked there. post replies or email to [email]mrsmooth15@aol.com thanks

check my page for a good writeup on how to make your own harness

if you're not up for that, just check local parts stores, they should have something there

xenon look a likes.. because real HID doesnt burn harness wires.. it only use's 35 watts, xenon look a likes use 100+ to look even gayer.

not to mention hid doesnt use stock harness to light it.. it rather use's a ballast

That's what I thought. How can you do it without spending 700 bucks?

true. but the ballast doesnt draw, continous 100 watt, thur the harness it rather use's 35 watts and 15 amps to ignite.

and the ballast use's a heavy duty wiring to the bulb.<-- whats what meant , when i said it doesnt use stock wiring. up above

what do you mean?

all the HID kit is, two ballast, two bulbs.. the stock 9006 harness plugs into the ballast.. and the ballast is connected to the d2s/d2r bulb...?

there isnt a way to get real hid, with out that kit.. so i dont know what your confused about

you cannot jerry rig a hid kit...well, you could, but it's not something 99.9% of the people around could do.

the starter and ballast are complex pieces of equipment. you're playing with lots of electrical stuff here, and it's not a good idea to atempt to mess with it.

if you want hids, go buy a kit.
