I just did some searching for Bose problems and didn't find what I was looking for. It might be there and I missed it. I hate to bother you guys again, but my husband just came in the the door, after driving the '89 GXE, and said the front speakers do not work and all the bass is gone.

My first thought was to never let him drive the my Max again. He is good with electronics, so he will be the fixer. I just want to know ahead of time what to tell him to look for. It will save a family feud. For now I would just like to keep the system I have, make it work, and not update anything. A new system is in the works down the road.

If any of you stero system fanatics could help I'd appreciate it.

Re Bose Speakers

Martha: This is a very common problem with Bose systems. However, Bose, Clarion or Nissan never admited that they placed a poor quality products in Nissan. Every 3rd gen. max owner has gone through this problem. Bose never realized that the car will outlast their speakers. As I mentioned in a response to your earlier post. I spend a lot of time and money to fix this problem so I don't want anybody else to go through the same. Here are two options. You can either ditch the entire system (radio and speakers) and buy new after market system. Cost will be whatever you can afford. or you can get these speakers fixed like I did. cost about $65 to $70 per speaker and about 85 to $100 for radio repair. There are websites (stereo repair shops) that fix these items for the prices mentioned above, and depending on where you live, shipping cost additional. Let us know if you need additional information.

Looks like I'm stuck for $$$ both ways. I'll have the other half fire up his brain and see what he comes up with. If by some reason, he does something that works, I'll let you know.
