Rear Speakers

Hey Ive had my 92 Maxima SE for a few weeks. When I bought it, it came with a audiovox hu, some aftermarket speakers in the front door panels and no speakers at all in the rear. I bought some Eclipse 6x9s at Tweeter cause i had a gift certificate and they were going to install them but said they were to big. Everyone ive read about here has got 6x9s, they told me to get 6 1/2s so i did but i checked these out myself and they r to small..are they just idiots there and should i go back and get those 6x9s? please offer some advice.

hmm.. if you didnt have bose, then the rear speaker size is 6.75. i have 6.5s in there and its too small like you said, and not all 3rd gens came with 6 x9's. the perfect size is an oversized 6.5 or 6.75" speaker.

the 6x9s dont fit exactly w/o the bose fittings, u have to mount them yourself by making them fit (cutting the rear deck a little) or at least thats how it is on my car...i went ahead and made them fit top mount, besides, it fits better...or u can redo the whole rear deck and mount them that way, thats what ima do in the long run...just havent gotten around 2 it, but stick w/ the 6x9s, the bass is so much better...
