Re: noise

have you installed an amp recently?? if you ran the power cords along the same side of the car as the RCA cables/speaker wires you'll get engine noise. I think a bad ground can casue this also.

I just got car about 3 weeks ago so not sure if amp was installed but i think they might have been a system in it befor it got a nice cd player looks like some spent about four hundred bucks on i pulled out the cd player like a weeks ago but so many more wires then my old car uset to have not sure what to mess with or not to mess with could be ground but im not sure where the ground goes up in dash all i know could probaly be solved by cutting ground and regrounding it not sure if i should or not but really want to fix hate hearing the noise

Could not be grounded properly, like was said... Some head units also have poor shielding, and some amps too, which would cause that.
I'd bring it to an audio specialist and have them check it out on a lunch break or something, I know a lot of places around here won't mind doing it if you don't pester them
May want to check also and see if there are any bad connections behind the head unit, like bad splicing, uncovered solder joints, just poor work...
