Tranny Problem

Occurs mostly when I am going downhill and come up off of the gas, it seems to bounce between 1500 and 1700 RPMs. It will do it a couple of times and then levels out, doesn't seem to shift gears though, and I have never felt it slip. Has anyone else encountered anything similar to this? I am hoping it is something electrical and not the entire thing, it would be my second

Mine does the same exact thing, I have yet to figure it out. I jsut put a new tranny in about 3 months ago, and I don't think it is tranny related. Anyone know what it is? My davis4004 account isn't letting me post so I'm using this one instead, I'm now a lurker again.

Well then we have something else in commmon, my old log-in got locked out as well...so I am back to being a newbie....its funny the way we treat the new people around here....I guess I didn't pay attention until I was labeled as one again. Luckily my tranny has been in for about three years now, I have about 40K on this one since I put it in.... anybody with any ideas?

me too

Mine does that too. It doesn't do it as much as it did about 2 weeks ago however. I haven't changed anything since then... but I did stop putting it in neutral while braking... maybe that's it.

normal?

my car does the same thing, i believe it to b normal, maybe damage occurs if the wheels r turning fast and the engine rpms get 2 low? who knows, but it only happens when im slowing down from a high speed, its kinda annoying/weird, but i wouldnt believe it 2 be a prob

Are you sure it's not just down shifting? I'll try this same thing with my car tomorrow and see.

No definitely not downshifting, almost like the engine is reving itself....Dropped my car off at the mechanic today to get several things looked at, he said the igniton coil is involved somehow in the way the RPMs are wired....I will keep you guys updated....

Ok, well I didn't notice anything strange with mine. Keep us updated on what the cause is.

Good luck,
