I had a bad night. I bent a rim!!!

Today it snowed rained and sleeted all day. So it was about 6 PM and dark out and poodles everywhere. I was coming around a corner driving right on the shoulder line when all of sudden bang I hit something and my steering wheel started to shake. I walk back and look and I find out it was a big black piece of curb that a plow must of moved there! So I take off my rim and find no hole but then I looked at the inner part of the rim to see the lip bent in bad! So I put the spare tire on (remember its cold and its a wintery mix coming down) I noticed it was a little low so I said to myself "I will drive to the gas station 50 feet away and fill it up." I pull out in to the main road then my steering wheel start to shake and I was scared that something was wrong with my axle but I pulled in to the gas station to find out the spare tire went completely flat and was coming off the rim!! So called my brother and he brought a spare tire from are jeep which did not work so I had to go to my friends house who has my twin Max and steal his spare and give him mine. He was not home. I put his spare tire on my Max and filled it up with air before driving on it this time.

damn dude.. you're just not having any luck!

if it really WAS part of the curb, then fill out paperwork and file against the city to pay for the wheel to be fixed/replaced.

around here, they pay for any damage caused by potholes/chunks of street mising, etc. but you have to be able to prove it somehow.. i.e. show them a pic of the curb w/ piece missing and maybe witnesses. (your brother will work)

same thing happen with the spare

I had a flat tire on day, and i jacked her up... Than i proceed to take out the spare from the trunk.. take off the front right tire and put the spare on... Then i noticed that when i lowered her the tire seemed to be underinflated... I did just as you did.. but to a local tire shop... not even 4 feet from where i just changed the tire the spare went out.. i had to ride on the flat until i could get to the tire fix flat store. Sigh... that was like 2 months ago.. they didnt even have my size tire... I am still running 195/65/15 on my right passanger side.. Cant wait til income tax $$ come in to buy a set.. Funny.. I filled the spare out again... never been used b4... wonder if its gonna get flat in the future...

I am not bothering the town for the damage because my girlfreinds uncle owns 2 rim repair places 1 in new jersey and 1 in Connecticut. My girlfriend and I are going down to pick up her bmw rim that needed curb rash repair and we will see what he can do about my rim. I also think there is no hole in my tire due to it already had about 20 psi in it and the curb did not have a sharp edge. Crazy4Max thats what the spare tire did to me! It was like it could not handle the wieght because of the low tire pressure because there is no appearent hole in my spare tire and I just used it a few months ago.I am going to the local church and getting my maxima blessed because it has been having a bad year

same thing happened to me

Same thing happened to me. I was goin to a party in NY and i live in PA so i was on highway 78 doin like 75mph and there is a rock in the middle of the road. i swerved but smack it hit the tire/rim. nothing happened immediatly btu i pulled over just to check it out. the tire was inflated but i heard a hising noise. i told my mom that was in the car to move the car up a foot or so. and all the air just came out. i had 0 tire pressure when she moved thecar an inch. so i jacked it up pulled o the spare. and put it on. put the car down and it was flat. on top of that i looked at my rim and the stupid rock had bent it. uggghh. so i had to wait for like a half hour till triple a came and drove on a donut all the way back home. I bought a remanufactured max rim. beccuzz the shop said they couldnt fix my rim. but after i bought the reman. rim they said well maybe we can fix your rim. Go figure!. they fixed and now i us it as my spare. no more donuts for me.

damn you all!

it might sound stupid, but i wouldn't mind f***ing up my rim. or just my tires even. see, my parents bought the tires that are on there like 8 months-1 year ago and they won't let me buy new rims until i need new tires. but sorry to here about the problems it caused. i also wish i had snow.

that sucks man... that is almost as bad as when i went to the Car Wash, and while going through it, my car jumped the rail, and chewed up my front left rim, and put a nasty split down the tire

was it your fualt or the car washer......get them to fix it.. but it would be hard b.c. they have signs all over saying that they are not responsible for any damages...
