Ermmm, windy and high roads?
WIND will cause your car to swerve...
And high roads generally have a lot of WIND...
Which will cause your car to swerve...
Semi's cause a lot of WIND too...

Should help a little, but I know wind plays a MAJOR part in it...
When I lived in Chicago it could push my car over a lane and then back without me having to do anything, and sometimes the wind here does that...
Also happens a bit on Rt. 77 thru the Apps, too
If you need an alignment done, get it done, but there's nothing you can do for the wind except load your trunk and every nook and cranny in your vehicle with cement

If the car is stable at any other time, then I would say the road you were on was causing the swerving, but if this is a common occurance, then do the alignment. When they are in there, they will check the outer tie rod ends to see if the ball joint there has come apart and causing the unstable steering. Good luck.

Probably worn-down ruts in the road. Do you have stock rims/tires? If you have larger rims/tires, they tend to follow the ruts in the road and will cause the car to swerve a bit left and right as you drift over the ruts a bit.

Alignment make your car swerves either to the left or to the right. If your car sway left and right it may be your front suspension part worn out. Is the new tie rod tight? Jack your car up and hold the tire-push and pull on it to see wheather or not you have any play in it. Is the lug nuts tight?

road round will affect this, especially if you've lowered your car and have wider tires. on the turnpike i stay in the left or right lane. never the middle cause it's got this tar strip. anyway, it makes my car pull all over the place.

Err, wi=Wisconsin?
I still stand firm on my belief that it's the wind, especially if you're in Wisconsin. I used to live right off Lake Michigan, and from what you're describing, sounds exactly like what WIND will do to a Max, or ANY vehicle besides a cement truck.
If you have alignment problems, then get them fixed, but I am 100% positive that you'll STILL have the problem, especially on high and windy roads (high roads = wind)
So get fixed what needs to be done, and welcome to the US
