3rd Gen Repair Manual??

Is there a 3rd Gen only repair manual? I got the Chiltons 1985-1992 and it is poorly done, and has pics of the 2nd gen model and some of another nissan car not even a maxima! is there one for 1989-1991 or something?

FSM all the way. If you really need to rely on the manuals then get a FSM and a haynes. The haynes manual gives great imaging while the FSM is awesome for descriptive instructions...

you need the chiltons 1993-98 manual. Chiltons book # 52452. it has a gold 4th gen on the cover. the new haynes 1993+ says right on the back of the book "does not cover the DOHC in 92-94 models"

Err... this better be a joke because it's been suggested before and the results weren't pretty...

Yeah, you almost need the FSM and a Haynes or Chiltons. One for the very specific and obscure, and one for the very general or requiring photos. I'm thinking of getting a Haynes someday to supplement the FSM, which has it's annoyances.

It says it but when doing the springs it showed the IRS of the 3rd gen and the reg 4th gen suspension. I think it does not have 3rd gen engine info

so we agree then. the haynes does not have VE engine specific info, but all the other info is in there. correct. chassis, brakes, etc, etc...

My Haynes does... And it's for 3rd gens... I'll check it out if I go to my bros tonight, but I am about 95% certain that it's ONLY for 3rd gens...
And I know for a fact that it has the VE engine in there.

FSM

I have an 85-92 Chiltons and a 1994 FSM. FSM is definitely better, though the Chiltons holds its own again the FSM (considering its so cheap). I got my FSB on Ebay, in brand-new condition, for $35.

I'll get it as soon as I go to my brothers house, both my car and the book are there, and prolly will be there for a while, we still have another 5-6 hours on the heater core, and then we replace the radiator
I'll take a pic of the cover, too
