Please help me with this problem
My Max (1994 GXE,AT, no mods)has this problem: when I stop at a light or in traffic, there is a growling or rumbling noise when it is in drive. When I shift into neutral, the engine sounds normal again.
I recently had a 120k service done, and changed a timing belt. Anyone else have a similar problem?
Thanks!

I think alot of people have this problems with any nissan out there.
A common cure i've seen for this problem would be to clean your throttle body. Go to auto zone, pick up a can of throttle body cleaner and follow the directions on it. It works wonders, restores power nicely.
Your air filter could also be dirty, check it out, it's a cheap thing to replace. Replace your fuel filter also, if it's old.
Do a search for this problem and you'll get a lot of responses, many people before you have had this problem and they listed their solutions. Look at the top, there's a link for the search function.
Good luck.
