Illumination

I bought a new cd player. I bought the wiring harness to help make the installation easier. I wired the harness to the harness comming out of the cd player. A couple of the wires were not used. I know this is pretty usual, but if i neglect to use the Illumination wire, will it cause my interior lights (gauges, gear shift) to stop lighting?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Illumination

I had a problem with my air controlls (right above radio) not lighting up when I had my radio out so you might have a problem but not sure if it was just loose connection and it started working when I was puting the radion back in because of jiggling the wires or something. sorry im not much help.
