Did I just beat a '92-94?

I was crusing a couple of months ago and this Modified Black Maxima with exhaust pulls up next to me and floors it. I'm like WTF?? His tail lights were slightly differnt from mine:They were tinted and had black trim between the red and grey part. And his Front grille was colered keyed had small slits untike my 3.He also had a spoiler. Well I wanted to put him in his place so I pulled back up to him and punched it next to him and he does the same. We ended up staying dead even with me pulling slightly. We did this about 5 or 6 times with me pulling every time. I though they had like 190 Hp or something. Whats up with that...he should have been faster. But Now hes got a '00 Maxima SE. And I got a 3000GT SL with 222 Hp. So I waiting for the day we line up again. This could be fun.

Nope, the grill like yours is only on 89-91's, and the tails say that it was a 89-91 SE.

Actually he said the guy's grille had small slits (like the 92-94s) unlike his 3 slits. I think the guy just put a newer SE grille on his 89-91 and left the rear valence panel stock. If you see it again, the rear corner tailights on 89-91 have the clear strip running all the way along the bottom, while 92-94 rear corners have the strip stop close to the corner. Not 100% proof, but more indications.

Yeah thats how his taillights looked from the side....
Unlike mine when I see the red and White..Hes was all red.
and His said 'Maxima' in the white part of his Rear Lights where mine says it in the red part.

You'll get a Ve auto for a sec once you punch from 30-50 but it will soon catch up at highway speds. From a start a VG89-94 auto will pull on a Ve auto until about 50 or so, from my experiences with them.

Hmm, now it's my turn to misread something! I thought by "black trim" you meant his rear had "Maxima" in a big black panel on the rear (89-91 SE style). But now it sounds like this really was a VE. Like Monte said, VE autos are pretty slow off the line but catch up at higher speeds.

look on my page in the how-to part for model comparison

it'll show you the noticable differences between 89-91/92-94 GXE/SE

92-94 SE do have 190HP / 190ft/lb

Yeah it was definetly a '92-94 Model or VE(is that what you call them?)
I know they have like 190 Hp and 190 ft lbs of torque don't they?
I only have 160hp and 183 lb ft. so how was i able to take him from a stop and a roll from 30 although we didn't get any faster than 60 MPH.
Does he Peak Power kick it differntly from mine?
