Interesting results from first time at track...

It was my first time at the track and here are my four runs:

Run 1:
1994 Nissan Maxima GXE Automatic. Front tires at 32, rear at 44. Spare and jack removed. Full interior. Stock intake, stock exhaust, and some special tuning. :-D

R/T .966
60' 3.005
1/4 18.090
MPH 79.87

I spun the tires through first and into second gear, then the tires hooked up and so the tranny shifted back into first. What a nightmare.

Run 2:
Same as above but front tires at 25.

R/T 1.160
60' 2.407
1/4 16.611
MPH 81.30

Better traction, manual shifting.

Run 3:
Same as above but front tires at 22.

R/T .957
60' 2.358
1/4 16.379
MPH 82.59

Getting there.

Run 4:
Same as above.

R/T .727
60' 2.388
1/4 16.346
MPH 82.51

I was happy.

This was all at a track which is 492 feet above sea level with the temperatures in the 40's and the humidity not too bad.

16.3 is pretty fast for a stock VG auto. But your trap speed is a little low (82mph). Should be around 84-85mph. Good times though!

yeah that does sound really quick and those traps are kinda low, my best is 16.224 @ 84...thats really good though for bone stock!

FFXmax is the only other "freak" VG auto I've seen, he ran 16.5's with just intake when we were at the track a few months ago! good times though!!

I don't have any mods to really speak of besides a courtesy FSTB, but here is what I did to attain these times:

1. Ignition timing is somewhere in the range of 15-20 degrees. I advanced it the ghetto way without a timing light. I use 93 Octane.
2. I adjusted the throttle cable today and there was a lot of slack in it. As a result, I believe I am now achieving true WOT.
3. Tires at 22 in front and 44 in back is a must.
4. Spare and jack were tossed.
5. During staging I had to spin the tires after the burn out box to get the water and rocks off my tires.
6. I launch in 1st gear (yes it's an auto) at around 1500-2000 RPM. When the lights do their thing, I floor it.
7. I put the tranny in power mode, but I shifted it manually.
8. After each run I propped open the hood and turned the car off. Pushing the car through the staging lanes is a good idea too.

Damn good times

You might want to get 2 extra 15in wheels and throw some 205/50-15s on them. That by itself should drop you to a solid 16.0-16.2s in the same conditions with no other mods. If you had a Y pipe and the same conditions chances are you could have broke 15's.
