Question Re: Plasma blue 9004s/Wiring harness AND Possible Parts Car??
Last week I got these from Ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ndexURL=0&rd=1
and then this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ndexURL=0&rd=1
My question is this...
I've seen and read mixed reviews about the effectiveness of wiring harnesses with aftermarket bulbs (xenons/real HIDS/etc...)
Will that wiring harness above make my car capable of handling those headlights? I've had problems w/ aftermarket 9004s in the past, but never used a wiring harness, and would always have to replace my headlight sockets and wiring and stuff. It appears this thing would be what I need, but as I was looking closer at the item description (which I know, I should've done before buying it) it says that the harness will increase the cars light capability from 100/80 to 130/110. The problem is, my car as of now is at the stock capability, which I believe is approx. 85/65 or something. The headlights I got are 100/80. Since the harness says it can increase handling from 100/80 to 130/110, it would seem logical to assume that it would just as easily bump stock wattage up to 100/80, but I'm not really sure. Anyone have any help? Thanks
BTW............ my car is at a tranny shop today getting my weird shifting problem looked at, and it is more than likely going to be determined that I need to either rebuild my transmission (which I'll be thisclose to doing if it is definitely necessary), or say screw it and turn the rest of my max into a parts car. ill keep ppl posted on that, but i just wanted to throw it out as a possibility.
if the tranny is done for, the rest of my car is in near perfect condition (exterior and interior; everything works) and i got a bunch of mods that ppl would maybe be interested in. (Mostly cosmetic, but if my car is gonna be no more, I might as well see what I can get for the stuff in it)
hyperwhites for EVERYWHERE, inside and out
'true blue' pilot fog/driving lights
clears
carbon fiber dash kit
9004 plasma blues
wiring harness
custom front grill
some other stuff
ill update the status of that whole situation as it progresses, but any help w/ my headlight/harness question would be greatly appreciated for now. Thanks everyone

Re: Question Re: Plasma blue 9004s/Wiring harness AND Possible Parts Car??
I am not sure I understand what you are asking but I will take a shot. The wiring harness does not bump up the wattage it just means it can handle up to 130/110 bulbs which means it will handle the 100/80 watt bulbs. Your factory harness cannot handle 100/80 watts without melting and possibly starting a fire. When you put the new bulbs in use the high wattage harness too.
Hope that helped.
