quick gauge question

will mechanical gauges work on our cars? i found a real nice set at autozone, white faced, that will fit nicely underneath my head unit. i was wondering if we can use them though. there was H20 temp, Volts, and Oil pressure. they'd look really nice, but i wasn't sure if they could be used. i know you can't use that type on hondas, you have to use electrical. . .
