hood idea

i know a lot of you guys are doin the carbon fiber hood thing
and i had a cool idea, well i remember seeing it somewhere else so its not really mine, but yeah
you should cut a triangular hole in it right behind the battery (skyline style), then make a box under it, then you can have a cai inside the hood and it would look sweet as hell. theres not as much piping as the traditional cai's for all you haters out there. just drill some holes in the bottom of it so water can drain, and youre set. is that its whole purpose in the skyline anyways?
if that has already been done then disregard everything above and realize that im dumb

well i was thinkin you could just mount a tube and have it run to underneath your car. theres enough room to run it under there with nothin in the way. if i didnt have a cai already i think id try this, maybe i will anyway.

I was so set on doing this(maybe I will if I can find a spare Black hood) But I still worry the power/gains (over CAI) would not make up for the aerodynamic changes (when using a scoop)

Aside from looking dumb (IMO), you would ruin any resale value our cars still have.

you can un-install a CAI or intake and nobody will ever know the hole for the CAI is there. you can't cover up a hole cut in the hood though.

Performance gains over a CAI will be minimal at best.

well a lot of people said that the cai lacks top end flow because of all the tubing, this cuts it down to where the airbox used to be
and there isnt gonna be a scoop, its just like the skyline, the triangular slot with a 'grill' over it.
i think it would look good on our cars, its not all that noticable. not like a 4' scoop comin off the middle of ur hood or anything

i dont think our cars carry much value anymore anyway, especially with what most of us are doing to them

ill look around for a pic
