light conversion all done

http://annulardesign.com/ride/inpros_7000k/

well...took me from 8am until 2am!

i rewired all my old wiring, hid my relays, moved my airhorns, basically cleaned up my rats nest

even though i hate my car after today, i think it'll be worth it in the long run.

Are you yelling at someone or do you not know how to turn the caps lock off??
Do a SEARCH of the 3rd Gen forum for a E36 headlight install writeup. DNAS420 did a GREAT write up on it. It requires a little cutting and custom fabrication, but you should be able to figure it out pretty easily. The only thing that's kept me from doing it is all of the poor conversions i've seen done. Sometimes they have an ugly gap or one points downward or upward, you get the idea. Not everyone's will look as great as ngthing's!! Good luck...

Well wait no more...check my sig if you go to my link you will see what I used and it looks pretty clean and I even messed up a little. It is not permanent though because I am working on another solution which I hope makes them look completely factory.

it's above the light...you can see it when you look at the top of the grill, then the top of the new bmw light, there's like a 1 centemeter gap or something...

Great Job

Looks good. But I have a question. Those eyes? I want them. Where do you get them and how much are they? I have the bmw lights (not installed yet) but I want those angel eyes too...

Any leads? I'll send an email too in case ngthing (et al) don't want the masses to find out their secrets...

hmmmm

well here is something you ahve to ask yourself, does the front of the bmw light come off or did you buy the ones that are sealed. i am working on a deal directly with bmw to get genuine bmw lights w/o projectors for cheap. they are better quality and i will know tommoro whether the front is removable or not. If they are then i will be doing a group buy and get everyone a really good price. contact me in any way for more answers.

Does the set you're trying to score have the Angel Eyes or not?

the quality of the conversion will be determined by the time you spend on it. the more time you spend tweaking it, the better it will come out. a regular e36 conversion shouldn't take long at all, it took me about a day to do. once you do it, you can do them easily...i could do one with my eyes closed now well...maybe not

because my lights are aimed up still ;p

i need to find a way to fit these so they aim lower, and i dont have to cut my rad support...but I might just end up doing that

That wouldn't be okay? I mean, the radiator is supported from the sides and bottom too, isn't it? I guess I would have to go out and actually look at it to visualize. You could rig up another support, couldn't you? Man, these bimmer conversions are never as easy as they seem, I tell ya! That's why I'm ch!ckensh!t and haven't done it yet. I'm waiting on you to perfect it !!!

the only rad support you need to cut is the top part, and that's only for the freeform or ellispoidal lenses.

i already cut the shi* out of the casing, I'd rather make it fit as is than cutting my supports and looking funny.

well it is really just a regular conversion with a little extra add-on (nothing special if you look at my page you should be able to tell what I used. )

I took my time and did a lot of adjusting and cutting to get it looking right...Like ngthing said the quality of the install is the amount of time you spend on it.

It is really not that expensive...you should be able to find the dot bmw lights and the wires to do it for les that $150. Do a search there are some good writeups on doing the conversion. dnas420 has a good write up and links to other ones as well.

there is no possible way to install your freeform without cutting the rad support, unless you cut the **** out of the lights itself. That is what i did on my other side. I pretty much destoryed the back of the headlight housing to make it fit in the car without cutting the rad support. Now i need to find a way to close up the headlight housing , so does anyone have any ideas to have i can use. I have also talked to stu about these euro lights and we both argeed on welding a metal piece from the cut rad support to the side of the car. However the bad thing about that is, it's not as simple as you think. No body shop with the right mind would do that for you, mainly cuz of the point that once the rad support is cut, the whole frontal structure integrity is F.U.C.K.E.D. So i would highly not recommend anyone to do the euro conversion unless they feel like that are a super safe driver and would wanna take the risk in messing with the car frame.

that is not true. i took the later route and I fit all the headlights in by cutting the backs of the plastic housing. i've gotten so far...so we'll see how it goes from here. i'll be back in a week from a business conference, more info later.

Well yeah i did that too, but you see the back of the high beam plug is being blocked by the rad support, so you couldn't really adjust the lights to be any lower. Oh well and the fact that the blubs and the inside of the lights are exposed is just plain bad too. Need to find a way to close it back up, so got any ideas or are you just going to leave it like that.

I'm not worried about my high beams as much as my low beams, if I can prop up the back, they'll fire twoards the road more...that's what I need to do. Having my bulbs exposed ins't that big a deal, Ive got a dust cap sitting overe em anyhow.

If there was ever a group buy, I'd be pretty interested. But I don't really want to cut the rad support or anything.

well if the lights are us spec (which i think it's most likely gonna be), it will fit just fine without cutting the rad supports
you will have to cut your headlights brackets thou.
