Heya peoples!
Hey everyone!
I'm fairy new here, so i guess i'll start with my story.
While trying to figure out what my first car should be, i came across a 1991 Nissan Maxima, pearl white with a spoiler and tint, just sitting there waiting for someone to take it home and make it theirs.
So thast what i did.
Its in pretty good condition although not to say there aren't a few problems with it.
the list goes like:
1. Interior - The two front seats, which are a tan leather are worn out, so i have to get em reupholstered. The back seats are pretty much fine. the lil storage compartment under the radio, the lid won't stay closed.
2. Suspension, Shocks - i think they either need changing or adjusting. the car bounces way to much going over a bump.
3. Brakes - The brakes need adjusting or need to be changed. I have to hit them way before i come to a stop sign. Lol
4. Sunroof - when i tested the car out i opened and closed the sunroof without any problems....then i tried it again and it didn't work. i'm think maybe its the fuse because the clock wasn't on also.
5. System - the car has the orginal system in it, the Bose one. IT SUX! the right speaker plays at a lower volume than the right side and the back speakers not at all. i tried moving the balance and fade controls to no avail. i was planning on changing itanyways cuz i need a cd player, not feeling the cassette player.
but so far i love this car. just looking on some tips on what i can do to hook up my car, however i have no experience with cars or mechanical stuff.
what should i take care of first? i'm on limited resources so it'll be done on a monthly basis. i'm think the brakes, audio, then the seats.
also how often should i have my car checked up?
any advice or comments are welcome.
Happy to be a member of Maxima.Org
Holla Back!

yep yep
i would spend more on brakes first, then $hitload on the car itself (tune up, fluid change, alignment, stuff of that nature), and then finally the mods. Remember go before show, i would start with the intake, exhuast system first and also get a ftsb. I think by the time you do get all that done you will have have a fairly good idea what you will have to do next. SO have fun with your car
Oh yeah as to your maintance schedule, besides your usual oil change every 3k, there is a list of things to do at what miles on the back of your nissan manual. It should tell you everything you need to know about your maintance schedule

FTSB = Front Tower Strut Brace
Just a piece of metal that you into into your car to make the front abit more rigid. So when you turn and stuff you wouldn't be all over the road. You can buy one for 45 dollars from steathlmax over at the for sale forum.
