mods

Today, I have my rear deck stripped, and my doors torn apart.

I am rebuilding and raamating the rear deck. The deck is ported for the subs, and it needs a little stifening. I am deadening the doors, and I will do the matching leather panel mod.

Stage II In May
Konis
2k Muffler - custom Bpipe
Reienforce Sway Mounts - ST Sways
WSP Subframes
Powerslots and Metal Masters Up front
Goodridge S/S Brake Lines with fluid upgrade.

Maybe, JWT ECU
Custom kick pods to custom 3 way ADS front componants.

$$$$$$$$, The only benefit to being old, and oh, knowledge don't suck either.

Why does everyone want a 2K muffler, is there somthing special about them or somthing? What do you mean reinforce sway mounts? Just adding sways or is it somthing different? Thanks

Yeah, 3rd gen's are old alright (I love them to death so there's no flame here). I still think its pretty funny that these 10+ yr old FAMILY SEDANS have more torque than a brand new S2000! Yeah, Honda sure has come a long way. You know what it all boils down to? You can spend $400k on an econobox, and make it the fastest car in the world. Though, you'd just have a $400k ECONOBOX and there is nothing that could change that!!! Enough ranting from me.

BTW, just thought I mention this to you guys. I've been having lots of little problems with my GXE lately. I was coming home and going through a 4-way intersection. At the exact moment I was wondering if I should keep my Maxima. I mean I love it and all but I couldn't afford any huge repairs at the moment. Anyways, almost immediately after this thought passed through my mind, I pushed the gas a little and it downshifted a few gears then went WOT (okay, I floored it ). Well, all those bad thoughts went away when I heard that VG come to life! Because of the high buildings nearby, the sound was amplified and tons of people on the sidewalk or near vicinity all turned and looked at my car. I had the windows down and heard one guys say "Damn!" and give me the thumbs up! Sorry to get off topic but I just thought this was a real cool incident.

These are the mods I am going for, in order hopefully.

18" or 19" Rims and tires
UDP
JWT ECU - If I can ever find some info about someone using it and noticing a big difference
Some kind of catback setup - prob the 5th gen muffler and WSP B-Pipe

I will have to see how much money I make this summer but the Rims are #1 on my list.

2 K Muffler has a variable flow setup. At higher gas flows a flap opens a second chamber. This should work well with the VE VTC set up. Plus it is quiet like stock.

Aftermarket Sways use the OEM mounting brackets and very often break them. The 2k will need a custom B pipe while it is at the shop for welding I figure it would be a good time to get the subframes and sway upgrades done.

call me simple but if she owns a gs400 she wouldn't need to be modded. My attention and eyes will always be too busy on her car to pay enough attention to her to even care.

yes, yes just realize a 10 year old 160hp engine doesnt cut it anymore in 2002, where most stock cars come with over 200 hp.

True that. But this is about the maxima enthusiast in you not *just* about winning races, yes?

most cars do NOT come with over 200hp, especially the family cars.

funny how the 10 year old VE can beat most $20K+ new cars.

its kinda sad though, i wish i could rewind time back to 92, 93, 94 where our cars would be brand new. For a second car (most likely another max) id love to get another 3rd gen VE but increased age, mileage, and wear on these cars may force me to sell out to a 4th gen

yeah but those are kinda like an exception....since the Civic is generally seen as slow 4cyl. car, a 160hp Civic is actually an improvement over the norm plus its not even a V6!! but yeah I guess Nissan can cay "been there, done that" when it comes to making awesome 160hp+ cars in the early 90's!

nissan had a 4 banger that made 160hp during the 90's???
it's also kinda sad how the civic si is only a 4 banger but it has the same amount of hp as our vg and at the same time save more gas. also you throw in a turbo in the si and us VG boys will never catch up with them even with all our mods. Sad sad sad, i guess when it comes down to it, the only reason why we still keep our vg is mainly cuz of sentimental reasons, not for for practical reasons.

I don't believe in modds and won't even put one near my slow max! I am selling it and getting a real power hungry car which will be a Kia Sophia. I will drop a 1.8-liter twin-cam 16-valve EFI 4-cylinder in it with a quad T6 turbos You just what I will have it doing the 1/8 mile in 17 seconds. Honda=Bandwagon=followers

During the summer my main goals are suspension and modifying the car to fit 245/40ZR17s. 205/40s are for Honduhs.

I doubt you beat turbo civics!!! Especially off the line your car weighs a ton and civics are alot lighter than the max and then add turbo!! I hate Civics but i know i cant beat a turbo civic!

Hey Pearl93max, if you get a WRX, make sure to get a really good 3" aftermarket exhaust. Oh my god, I've heard some WRX's lately and they sound like they have friggin SBC's (small block chevy) in them! All flat engines seem to have a damn nice sound to them. Guys, check out this place http://www.clubsi.com/dyno.shtml I was checking it out (I hate Hondas and was just studying the enemy ) and even most of these friggin supercharged si's (even ones with mods) have less torque then most 3rd gens with all the bolt ons. Thats pretty pathetic that adding a s/c and bolt-ons still can't beat the torque of a 12yr old sports sedan! Sorry, just thought it was funny to see those dynos. HP wasn't bad on those s/c si's though.
