new rims, new rubber...
new rims, new rubber...
well, some of you are going to object w/my tire choice. 235/45/17 falken ziex ZE502..i know they're pretty wide and it definatly affects my power, but oh well.
the rims look great! 17x8 eagle 077. the handling is great and there is no noticeable noise like on patrick94se's car with stock sized ziexs.
something i do find odd is that now, around corners my tires will spin if i'm on the gas. also, now that i'm pushing my traction limits a little more, what should my new suspension mod be? FSTB or subframe connectors? i was thinking SFCs as i can get them installed free, but honestly, which would make more of a difference?
P.S. i will have pics up as soon as i can find someone with a digi-cam.

Niiiiice! Don't know anything about the tires (how bad could they be?), but I LIKE the rims! Since I'm always collecting data on this topic (for future webpage & rim purchase), I'm going to ask some questions!
I assume your sig means you have ST springs (not that that matters). I don't know how long you've had to drive it yet, but do you noticing any rubbing or interference? At big dips in the road, wheels at full lock, hard cornering, etc? Your experiences (and any future input) would be really appreciated!
About your tire spinning thing, what tire pressures are you running? Are you saying they're actually spinning or are they loosing grip (sideways)? I'm just wondering if this is just an understeer/oversteer thing with the tire pressures...
Oh yeah, I think you should either DIY and do the RSB thing, or get the subframe connectors. Subframe connectors seem to be universally loved by all who've used them - modded or stock suspension.

Yeah my tires are pretty loud. My suspension sucks so I think that doesn't help the cause one bit.
I think the spinnig maybe becuase the lack of sidewall give you got now
Oh and if you take pics the old fashion way I could scan them for you

as for spinning, they're losing forward grip, there is this one corner, if i gas it at about 4k in second, the tires spin and squeak loudly, but laterally, they're still gripping.
as for tire pressure, whatever pepboys filled 'em with is what i'm using..i'm guessing its max psi for the tires (whatever is on the sidewall).
as for suspension mods, i'm definatly going SFCs, they cost more than the FSTB, but they seem to do so much more.
Find out what pressure they pumped in. Max pressure is not the best by far! Could very well be your grip problem! Do some searching on the forum (like for pressure surveys) and see what other ppl are running. Should be like, low 30's I think. You can even do different pressures back and front to tune handling a bit.
