For those with severe oil leaks, loose oil filter etc get them repaired. The other day I lost a oil line from my engine cooler while on the highway. I'm driving around 50-60 and the light comes on, what the hell is this. I pull over the next exit at a gas station and notice a stream of oil behind me, entire undercarraige soak with oil. I have heard a engine before with a couple of bad lifters, BUT this is the first time hearing all the lifters singing together, not a good song, trust me. Anyway replace the hose, refill the crankcase and I'm off. I dont think any severe damage was done with the lost of the oil, but I cant help but think I'm hearing a different/strange noise I haven't heard before, maybe it's all in my mind. Trying to keep that dreaded VTC ticking from coming, later

Thats pretty scary. YOu're lucky that you caught it before it went any longer, and it still runs.

Original post was Sept 2000 and response in Dec 2001, better late than never. The engine ran fine after that, I'm not too sure how many miles I had when this happen but the VTC came ticking about 100K. Thanks
