I've got a 94 Maxima GXE that needs a new CV joint. I'd like to purchase this at Autozone, but they're asking me a lot of questions I don't know the answer to. Such as...

Do I have a High Speed differential?
Do I have a 4 cam engine?

Hate to admit it, but I got this car used, and I don't know the answers. Is there someplace I can go, besides the dealership, that can tell me the answers to these questions by using my VIN? Must I call the dealership for this info and then let them know that I'm going somewhere else for the parts?

 

you have the vg engine, which is sohc, so you only have 2 cams
im pretty sure only the 92-94 se's had the limited slip diff too
