thanks. it does look funny right now, i need to finish fiberglassing and get some paint on, then it should look nice. i'm debating if a billet type grille would be better than mesh for now. but all the billet grilles with the stillen lip look funny.

the white one is getting some tint soon

So are you going to answer my question or not? Is it privelaged information?? I wanted to know about the fabrication on the white one, how you smoothed out the holes from removing the hollow piece that went there...

yeah, on the white one, but ngthngs is the same way! He doesn't have the louvers (they can't just be shaved off because the piece is hollow) and doesn't have that slat in the front... ?? Take another look and you'll see what I'm getting at. Why doesn't mine look like that? I like his better .

duud, what is so hard to think about!? i know what he did and he didnt even tell me. obviosly he bought it and it looked like yours. then he took a saw and cut off those bars. then he cut off the peice in between the bumper lights, then probaly used bondo to smooth it all up, and put a peice of mesh behind! viola! not that hard to see..

ok you guys just dont get it...nismo's plight is that the bottom bar of the ww air dam on ng's car is cut out. the physical bumper of his car is not cut jus the bottom crossmember/bar type thing. he wants to know how to cut it out and get it smooth since it is made of hollow fiberglass. ng- i as well as a few others would also like to know how you did it. So,please, enlighten us.

He filled the hollow part with fiberglass and sanded it smooth...that sounds simple but working with fiberglass isnt that easy.

filling holes and such is not that hard. For fiberglass you just cut out the offending part and then lay a few layers of the cloth/resin on the underside of the cut. Let it cure then lay some on the front side. If it's fairly flat after that you can finish up with some bondo designed for fiberglass for minor filling etc..

The only thing hard is following the contours on the airdam. There's one above and below the cutout on the ww airdam. I saw the white car last Sat in person. Needs some work but he said he was gonna finish it later.

To cut out the inner portion of the spoiler, I suppose you can just carefull grind/cut the ledge and then fill with the fiberglass kit. Again, this should be easier as I think there is less contours to deal with.

If you have worked w/ this type of material it's easy. If not, you would either leave the features or hire a pro to do it. It's difficult to get the contours right on each side. It's impossible to see in the pics.

CAn you do me a favor and find out what the offset is on those 19's And if any cutting or shaving was done. Also what is the width of those rims? Bc I believe that only 7 inches will work on our cars without rubbing.
Thanks BIGDOG

I fit 18X9s on my Maxima (just sold em) and only needed a .5" spacer in the back. My 17s are 8 inches wide and fit snug but no rub...

I realize how to do it and would have no problem, believe me. But before he said that his came like that. I don't know if he was playin around or what because this morning Craig sent me pics of the process and pics of what it looked like before and it was the same piece I have. So that answered my question. I didn't want to know how he did it (cause it should be easy to figure out) but how his looked like that out of the box becuase I understood him to say that his came like that.
A little filler mesh and fiberglass resin and a lot of sanding. That's it!

Jon, that IS a pretty nice set-up you've got going. I might have to invest in some fiberglass...

for an intercooler it doesnt really seem like it would make a difference, you dont have to have it fit in the opening, a lil trimming behind wont hurt
