Removing Power/Comfort Switch

Removing Power/Comfort Switch
I am replacing the gauge lights but i can not get the power/comfort switch off. It is a 92SE Auto. I felt around and it seems to lead to a small shaft. I can not take it out w/ a simple flathead as said on Craig B's Page. Help please!!

I think he's trying to say that you actually do just pop it out with a small flathead screwdriver just like the page states
get a small one and work your way under the bottom edge of it, then when you get a little bit up, grab it and pull it all the way out. There will be 2 connectors to it that you can unplug by pushing a small tab on each
good luck

you have to get that out in order to get the whole center radio/climate control trim piece out in order to get the upper dash gauge surround piece out in order to get the gauge cluster out in order to get to the back of it in order to change the bulbs
duh

...besides its easier to get that dash piece out first then the hazard, P/C switch, and lighter

it's just a little more difficult to get your fingers under the panel to pull it loose.

I had no idea that you were only 13 when I posted that
also, when you're 14, you'll learn about sarcasm too
Matt,Maximan190: yeah, you can take it out without first removing the P/C switch, but I think it makes it easier to pull out that way; either way works
wow, look at all the VEs VE POWER!! (get out of here Jaybird, you're ruining a VE thread)

Actually, if you pull the trim panel out from the top, then you don't have to remove the P/C switch to get it out. just unplug it from behind.

I just replaced my gauges w/ indiglos and here is what I did
I just layed the entire center piece of to the passenger side with it still attached, I you wanted you could remove it, but like others have said just try a little bit harder, it is a very stubborn piece to remove, but if all your doing is your gauges then just roll it of to the passenger side, if your painting or modifing that center piece, its obvisouly easier to work with out of the car than in.
either way good luck.
either way good luck.
