Retarded Brights

Has anyone ever noticed (At least on a '90 SE) when you flip on your brights, the low beams go off! If you hold the brights switch half-way back, you get both brights and low beams, but it's hard to drive like that =( I hate having to switch between my brights and low's whenever I reach the crest of a hill, so that I can see what's on the other side

I also wondered if maybe they WANTED it to be that way, but in almost every other car I ride in. When their brights come on, their near vision stays the same! It's Frustrating!

Just wondering if I'm crazy, or if anyone else has noticed this...

its meant to be like that, because the bulb has 2 filaments init and when both are on its too hot. so only one should be on at a time..thats why they do that..

Re: Retarded Brights

Perhaps my lights are aimed too high, as the brights don't illuminate anything within 20-30 feet very well. Hopefully I'll be able to raise the $$$ for the BMW Conversion soon.

(Using the crappy Fred Meyer 'Cool Blue' brand probably doesn't help either, but hey... They were free.)
