A free mod.

Any of u maxima owners here who still have a stock airbox, heres a cool little mod that i had done. If u look at ur air intake by the box u will see a black plastic pipe that goes from the airbox to behind the front headlight. What u want to do is take out your battery and disconnect that tube. It will take some yanking to get it out. When u turn the car on u will instantly notice the sucking sound, wait to u reach around 3500 rpm them it really growls. Thought i would share a cool mod with u guys. have fun.

so instead of cooler air from the front of the car..you prefer warmer air from behind the battery.
cool.

so now you want all the rest of us to suck in hot air while you're going to be getting nice cool air with your cai?

I see your strategy..you'll go faster by making us go slower.

I have a better idea, how about buy a fan the ones they sell in staples. the mini fans for like an office desk, cut out the intake tube in the middle stick the fan in make a bigger tube to fit the fan. insert the fan so it blows in the intake, so it would suck in extra air. and wallaaaahhh u have extra 50hp at the cost of maybe $25 what u think.?

P.S. That was a joke

I did that a few weeks ago, i thought it was the air silencer.
have you figured out what that pipe is that goes down and bends about 90* is? i couldnt. You were smart and removed the battery, i just unscrewed the fuse box and yanked with all my might
I knew what it would cause more hot air to enter but the stock position was pretty much blocked so.... plus i like the sound, i noticed a bit of a growl at the tailpipe, im on my way to a v8!!!!
anyway, i just couldnt figure out what that pipe was for. my moms subaru has one and it looks like a handle to help take the air tubing crap off.

You mean making a cheap supercharger that breaks?

The whole time I watched the infomercial for the Tornado, they kept talking about it creating a "swirling" air stream to create a better mixture. Fuel doesn't even hit the air until the end of the intake runners, by then the "swirling" air stream would've encountered far too many bends, constrictions and velocity changes to still be spinning. Besides, to much swirl is bad, as it acts like a centrifuge, creating so much centrifugal force that the atomized fuel is slung to the outside and condenses on the walls. Anyone notice that when they did a dyno run with a 260hp Impala SS, it only made 200hp to the wheels on the first try, then they installed the Tornado in the intake, which happened to be a K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit, the car suddenly made 220hp?

I think your idea has some merit - just go one step farther. So far, you've removed the black plastic pipe that extends to just behind the headlight. Why not cut a hole in the fender well next to the stock air box and run a short intake tube throught that fender well. Air drawn from the fender well is likely cooler that the air from the engine bay.

He should do it the other way around... Put the leaf blower in as the engine, and use the engine as the supercharger...
Hell, you know that leafblower has got to be bigger then those ****y little 4-bangers Honduhs tout...
