What does a failing tranny do?

What does a failing tranny do?

I was just wondering b/c mine might be going now. The shifter doesn't exactly line up with the gears, but it's not too bad. Other than that, the car still shifts pretty nicely. God, I wish I had a five speed!

worn shifter bushing...nothing major at all!

mabey it just needs an adjustment. I know in my gxe you had to pull it back into drive all the way(not just let it click) or else it wouldnt go in.

then I got a 5spd

Can I replace those bushings myself? If I don't will this lead to a major problem for me in the future? I love to ask questions, don't you?

I think the bushing is about $1-2 at Nissan, I've never actually done the replacement but its rather easy...you just gotta et under the shifter, pop out the old and put in the new one!
