Car Running Hot

Okay, I changed my antifreeze back in the early part of December. Anyway, the car was fine up until about 3 months ago when it ran hot. Usually, my temp gauge never even goes to halway between C and H. So, when it ran hot, it freaked me out. I pulled over on the shoulder and waited a few minutes and then checked the fluid level on the car. There was only about a qaurt of lfuid in it. Well, anyway, the first thing I tought was that maybe I forgot to tighten the hose back properly when I changed the fluid. So, I checked it and everything was fine. Well, I got it filled with water and drove it to the mechanic who does my work for me, or at least the stuff that I can't do and he checked it out. He said that sometimes, you can get an air bubble in the radiator that will force the fluid out. So, he used some type of machine to pull a vaccum on it (I guess) and then he refilled the fluid. The car was fine until last weekend, when it did the same **** again. I checked the hoses again an dthey are fine, I filled the radiator with water to check for a leak. No leak. Do you guys have any idea what may be the problem? Water pump maybe? If so, that really ****es me off. It was replaced not too long ago.

Thanks in advance for any insight you guys might be able to give me.

Did you bleed the air hole with the motor running with the heater on? If not, it's a screw right above the pcv valve on the vg motor... not sure about ve.
