Im having problems with my car, Im tired of spending money with things that are not the problem. I know I can pull some codes from my ecu but, Can I plug one of those computers that the shops have to diagnostic whats wrong with my car? If so where its the plug?

It's real easy to check, just go buy a chilton manual (cost me $17.00 with tax), and it tells you how to do it.

 

the check engine light..

 

remove your kickpanel on the passanger side stick your key in the ignition and turn on but dont start. turn diagnostic **** on the side of the box you see all the way to the right( don't forget to mark the position of the **** so you can put it back to its original possition)for three seconds then all the way counter clock wise andeither count the flashes on your check engine light or the led(s) on your ecu. slow flashes are the 10's, 20's, 30's, then there is a pause, then the next flashes are quicker and thoose are the one's two's three's etc.. get the code(s) then return the **** back to where it was and shut off ignition, if you send me the code'so i'll tell you what they are

 

you can only pull codes if the light is on? so there's no memory? is that a obd-i thing?
