basically the name..
there were some old "anti-skid" versions that were the precursors to ABS, but they're pretty much the same thing.

Okay, well my next question is about the fuses under the hood. On the drivers side of the engine compartment, there is a fuse missing from my box. The space where the fuse is gone is labeled "Anti-Skid". I just noticed it, but I have never noticed any problems with braking. I am pretty sure my car has ABS (92 SE) so what is the deal with the missing fuse? Thanks!

You wouldnt have problems with your brakes, but when you slam into them they would lock up instead of chattering like abs brakes are supposed to do. Or you dont have abs.

Where is your washer fluid resivoir?
If it's right next to the battery on the driver's side of the engine, and in the front right corner of the car you have a big metal box with lotsa piping on it, then you have ABS..
if that big box isn't there, then you don't have ABS.

the fuse panels were the same in cars with and without ABS, so the missing fuse doesn't mean much.

I've also seen SEs with and without ABS.. it was an option.
