The new and improved maxmizd27...

A little left to do before Import Wars in Hershey, PA on May 19th, but it's almost there. What a couple of months this has been. I'm pooped. Check out my CarDomain site for the latest pix. These were just taken at Carlise this past weekend.

Ok. Was wondering if you were still interrested in those pedals.

This is about all that's left, but I hope to remedy that with a new 6 speed SE next year and keep the automajic for the daily driver.

Thanks! Did ya catch my comment on page 2 of the site where I mentioned liking the sleeper look but just being able to leave well enough alone?
Everything used to be red and blue under the hood for the old Nissan factory racing colors. I think it has a lot more pop being all yellow and silver.

Brian, your car's just looking sweeter and sweeter. I remember seeing the under-hood color treatment, which is prompting me to hook mine up, too. But in blue, though...

When I saw your car last year, I was amazed by how nice it was. And also the fact that I finally got to see the maxima i have only read about. Now its just beautiful! The Rims look great. I am still puzzled about that spoiler. I have never seen one like that especially with the third brake light that way. Keep up the good work Brian!

Sweet.. Your car looks great..

Recommendation: Put a little CF spoiler thing, on the back edge of your spoiler. You can see what I'm talking about here..

It's a Stillen item, if they still make it. The 3rd brake light is the factory light. It gets left exposed when you take off the factory wing. Stillen just make a urethane cover to go over it.

Ugh.. that's hideous. looks like a poorly done cardboard cutout wing that way.

You can do alot better than a 5th gen. Don't you want to own something other than another Maxima?

Actually, no, not now at least. I go to new car shows every year and I still think the Max is the most car for the money IMHO. I'd rather drop $27K on a new Max and have enough left in the paycheck to throw some aftermarket at it. I look at the German cars with much less power, much less space and are much more money. I know the handling of most of them would be better with RWD and the German refinement and all, but the rest of it I'm just not seeing. At this moment the only way I'd go to a European car is if enough money landed on my head for an M3. It's the only one worth it to me. My tastes may change, but they haven't yet.

You've got mail....e-mailed ya with a few comments/ questions.

Why not get a CF hood to put the finishing touches on your ride?

I like carbon fiber, but not on my color combination. I think it would be too much with the silve and yellow accents. Something else would have to go to add c/f. I had c/f pedals in it and took the off for some titanium Razo's. I also got rid of the gold wheels cuz I just had too many colors going on. Got it down to the green paint, silver and yellow. Just wish it had a gray interior.

Yup... I can't stand that baby sh** brown color in my old GXE.. I loved the black emerald color on it, but the interior was absolutely horrible. you couldn't do anything to it to dress things up unless you removed the tan.

the only requirements when I bought my second Max were no tan interior, and a VE 5 spd.

I affectionately refer to the color as DooDoo. You hit the nail on the head. Just nothing that can be done with this interior. There is no dash kit that looks right unless you go to wood, which I don't really care for. I hope that Corbeau won't make Targa RS seats in tan, but I'm going to ask anyway. If they will I'll have another $800 down the toilet. D

that's why I was beginning to convert my interior to black leather..

I had installed black 300ZX seats up front and was going to get a black leather rear Max seat from a junkyard/ .org member, and dye/replace the dash/door panels with black. anything in tan vinyl was going to be changed to black, and leave the tan carpet. I've seen a few cars like that and they look pretty good. Honda has a color scheme like that, and the earlier SE maximas had black/tan interior combo that looked pretty good.
