Dash Kits
I am thinking about getting a dash kit for my '93 GXE. Joshua Tree has a sale that ends today (25% off), and I can't decide what to do. How many of you have a dash kit in your MAXIMA, and do you like it? My Max is pearl with brown dash / tan leather interior. What would look good?...brushed aluminum, a wood grain? I personally don't care for the carbon fiber kits, but that's just my opinion. I think I am leaning towards a wood grain. Any comments or suggestions?
I have carbon fiber and I am pleased with it. It fits pretty well and I think it looks neat. The wood might look best in your car since you have brown/tan interior.

Labor Time
How much time did it take you to install the kit, and how difficult was it? At the Joshua Tree web site it calls it an artistic work more than a mechanical. I think I could handle it, just planning ahead.

the stuff has an adhesive backing that you just stick to the dash; you just have to be slow and be careful to line up it right since it's hard to move once it's on there
for the curved parts of the dash, like the bottom where the change holder is, you have to heat up the carbon fiber (or wood grain); a hair dryer works fine for this - just heat it and it becomes more flexible and then you can stick it on
I took off the center panel of the dash so it would be easier, but you dont have to do that if you dont want
it's really not that hard at all; just be careful and take your time
