Fuel Injector Resistance
Fuel Injector Resistance
I checked the resistance of the fuel injectors. 4 of them are 12 ohm or so. One is 20 ohm, but still working. The No.3 injector is about 50ohm. It has not been working for a long time. I am wondering if a cleaning can solve the problem? Should I just replace these 2 injectors?
I also cleaned out lots of crap from the TB this weekend. When I re-start the car, I didnit feel any change. I tried to open the intake manifold, but the bolts are stuck there, I couldn't find a proper tool to loose them. Any suggestion on it?
Thanks a lot.

Those two injectors should be replaced. To use a cleaning solution will not do much for the others. I would reccomend that when you have the other two replaced that the other four should be removed and new seals should be installed and the filter screens on the injectors should be cleaned. There is a very fine filter screen that is on the injector that catches ultra fine metal particles and there is no chemical cleaner (or professional cleaner) that can dissolve. So when the other injectors are removed the filter screens can be cleaned manually. I used a paint brush in a solution of mineral spirits and it did a nice job in cleaning the filter screens.

In that post I mentioned the part number for servicing the injectors and it includes all the seals, for the vg motor the kit may also include new filter screens. On the ve the filter screen are not removable.
