I bought my car 3 years ago when it has 77k miles on it for 7 grand ..its a 92 gxe. It had to be repaired so many times and i m getting sick of it...I had the struts, ball bearings, the control ars, axles and now today i just had the hub bearing (left front )done for 280 bucks...i basically had my whole suspension redone ever since..is everyone else going through the same thing or its just my max...wat do u guys think..should i keep the car anymore...i also had many other repairments done but these are just the major ones.......thanks for the advice...

Expect a certain amount of "repairments" with an 11 year old car (I know you said 92, but it was probably built in 91). You've only listed suspension-related repairs; this is not unheard for an 11 year old car. If you are really curious, do a carfax and see where it was before you got it. Could be that the roads were bad in its previous locale or that it was driven hard...

Besides, I think the GXE suspension wasn't really the top of the line anyway. It was, they say, "softer."

To answer directly, maybe you bought a lemon. But suspension work is normal for a car that old. Everything is maintenance...

guess maybe I should listen to my friend "be nice to your suspension and it will be nice to you", guess that means no more offroading and no more trying to get air off speedbumps (45mph on them makes them seem like nothing, its fun).
anyway, i dont think its to big of a problem, stuff wears out. I still need to call edelbrock to see if there is anyway I can get theyre shocks to fit my max.

I have a 93' SE and ive also had my share of problems with my car, replaced both rotors and axles, wheel bearing, pins in tranny, 2 clutches, and window regulator. those are some of the repairs (there were more). Now I have to replace part of Y-pipe (flex tube), window motor, cruise control not working nor the fog lights, new struts and other than fixing those the car is good to go!

Just be happy the transmission hasn't gone yet. I would feel lucky if those were the only repairs I had to do in 3 years. I've already spent $2000 on my car in the first 6 months and the new tranny is acting up again.

All those things are minor and if your are mechanically inclined are simple to do. I did my drivers side wheel bearing not too long ago..ended up spending $60 total for the bearing and getting it pressed out and in.
It helps to know how to fix your own car and down the road you can save big $$$.
