UK-spec smoked corners

they are tinted, from the front they look really dark but from a 45 degree angle they are like clears with slight tint

what do you guys think?

ya know what DaBox? Those do look like they would match up to the Bimmer lights pretty well. Hmmmm, sounds like a good idea Craig............

Thanks for all the compliments guys

yeah, I knew they would match E36 lights very well and that was part of the reason I picked them up; I am considering the conversion so if I do it, you'll be sure to see the pics

Magic-I'm just holding onto my clears in case I want to change back later or somehitng, check ebay, they have clears everyday for $30 or so.

dabox-the UK corners dont come with bulbs or sockets, but the shape on the backs is the same so it should be fairly easy to drill out the holes and add lights and sockets from US stock ones (LordRandall has already done this successfully) so I plan on doing that tonight when I have time

Sorry, I can't help any of you get these. They come stock on maximas in england and I happened to know someone over there who was soon selling his max so I bought him some US clears and traded them.
And as for getting them from a UK Nissan dealer, it is possible, but the dealer prices are insane and then shipping doesn't help either.

...I found some though thanks to someones help who will remain unnamed (you know who you are)but I dont know if he is willing to sell them at a reasonable price...man they would look good with my lights.

now Craig get to work on the e36's.

UK pricing info

I just talked with a UK friend to confirm pricing since some of you were asking

from the dealer, they are something like £79/ea which is about $115 each and then probably $20-30 shipping would bring it to about $250 total
also, in the UK, maximas are very rare (check out www.bignissans.org.uk for more info about them) so you can't just pick some up from a junkyard there like you might in the US

In my very humble opinion these corners really don't look so good on

a) Light coloured cars (sorry Randy)
b) Cars with stock headlights

They really come into their own on cars with the Bimmer conversion, as demonstrated by Stu's monster. One of my other UK geezers has a skyblue car with stock headlights and has converted to US spec corners. And yes his stock UK ones HAVE already found a home.

One of my thoughts with respect to these corners is that they ARE a stock Nissan part. Let's say that I wanted to buy a part for something like a Nissan Gloria which isn't sold in the UK. I can still order the part through my dealer given the right part number. I would then surmise that given the right part numbers you should be able to order the UK spec corners through any US dealer. God alone knows what they would charge, but I don't see why it couldn't be done.

With respect to the headlight wiper conversion...it's a pain, because you have to drill a hole through the bumper when you are mounting them. What I can say is that I have already sent a set of wipers over (though I don't know if they ever got fitted or not). It was North Carolina as I recall, but I could be wrong.

No problem at all Pete. I'm not completely happy with the way they look right now either. That's why I'll do the BMW conversion eventually.... Many things in-line before that mod however.
