I was checking my EGR valve today, and when I stuck my finger in the gap to see if it was opening it was, right when i gave it gas, but then it would close if i gave it very much gas, does anyone know if this is what is supposed to be happening? If you do please help. Thanks in advance! And i did do a search!!

 

I think it might close when you're at WOT..other than that it'll stay open.

 

it closes when it gets to like 2500-3000 RPM's not at WOT

 

I looked it up in my haynes.
The solenoid is on when:
the engine is started
the throttle valve switch is on
the engine temp is low
rpm is lower than 900
rpm is above 3200
