wiring help...craig b?

hey, i was wondering if you could help me out with a little wiring..i want a switch that turns my radiator fans on and off..switch on=rad fans on
switch off=just like it is now..if you can help me out, i'd really appreciate it...just a little wire color/location (i could do wire up a second power source to the relays, but i'd rather not..)
also, is there anyplace on the firewall to run some wires? a 4awg power wire and a few smaller like 16awg wires without cutting a hole?

thanks

Read the second part of the sig. NO I WILL NOT TELL YOU HOW!
Ok well I guess no one is looking and I can trust you, I mounted it in place of my Y pipe flex section.

It is just a joke to **** off newbies.

First off sorry to ruin your post PAT. That being said what does a VG30ET put down?210hp? I think a High compression VE could do that easy!

Sorry I guess that was a poor assumption on my part. I don't suppose you are willing to make your set-up public info so I will squash this now.

dont worry about ruining my post, as long as my question gets answered.
saturday might be alright, i have a project to do for school, but thats later in the day around 7..i'll see this afternoon as i have to tell my boss i either have to work an earlier shift than 3-10, or not at all.
if i'm free, definatly show me how the hell i run that wire(i have the power wire...maybe we could run my new RCAs too..even though i dont have an amp )..also, we could figure out the fan wiring and some other stuff...possibly fix my P/S belt tensioner.
i'll email/IM when i know (this afternoon)

now..could someone please answer my question?

as for running the wires, as Matt has suggested many times before, take off the drivers side wheel liner and you'll see a hole that comes out just behind the strut tower and you can also see a grommet that goes into the cabin and comes out just behind the fuse box. You can just cut a small hole in that grommet and run the wire through there

Fans: I dont know offhand what wire you're looking for and my FSM is at home (if you can wait, I can try to look on Monday when I'm back there). As for wiring, I'd suggest buying a SPDT (single pole double throw) relay from PepBoys or wherever. Check my how-to page for relays and it'll show you the pin diagrams. They should be numbered 85,86,87,87A,30
wire it like this:

cut whichever wire powers the fans
add your switch, on one side of the switch have 12V power (switched ignition power source would probably be the best), on the other run a wire to pin 86 on the relay

85 - ground
86 - wire coming from your switch
30 - radiator fan wire going to the fans
87A - radiator fan wire going back to the car
87 - power (you can just connect it to the power on pin 86 if you want)

so when you dont have any power goign to pin 86, it'll connect 30 to 87A and have normal fan operation
when the switch is on, it'll connect 30 to 87 so the fans will get power as long as teh switch is on

good luck
