I am going to order brake pads and rotors for my car. I am certain of which rotors I am getting which are the regular brembo's all around. Now this place called jagworks.com sells good stuff pretty cheap. The front regular brembo rotors are going for $40.90 a piece. The rear brembo rotors are going for $25.31 a piece. The front pads which were recommended to me are called PBR they go for $31.02. The rear pad set they only carry for my car are Nippon go for $18.25. I have 1992 Maxima SE and wanted to know if I have a screwhole as a retaining clip, I think I do? What do you guys think of these brands? Anyone have experience with them?

can't tell you much on the pads, but the brembo rotors are the best you'll get for the money, and that's a very good price too. everywhere else is around $45 each.

the OEM rotors have small screw holes on the face of the rotor in order to pop it off a hub if it's frozen onto it. other than that, all you have to do is unbolt the caliper and the rotor will come right off.

if the rotor is stuck, and youre replacing it anyway, just whack it with a hammer

 

don't spend 100 bucks on the EBC's....I loved em but i think they're a waste unless using them with OEM rotors or something...

crossdrilled are only good for show anyway. mine cracked in less than 10k miles. about 8k I was bragging because they didn't have asingle crack in them as many others had experienced.. then just a few weeks later.......... I get to order new rotors because there's cracks in them big enough to stick my fingernail in it. DOH!

this is common on every brand too. if you really want to get something that's not solid, get the slotted ones.

your pads will still wear faster though, as the slots (or drilled holes) work like a cheese grater on the pads.

 

Were your holes in the rotor properly chamfered or drilled straight through?

I am on my second set of Brembos that are drilled and slotted. Not a sign of cracking. The first set I ate up with Rofren pads. Best braking I have ever experienced, however, at the cost of pads and rotors 15000 miles later. Mine are drilled by a Nascar shop that supposedly knows what they are doing. SO far I concur. I got mine through Randy at Brake Warehouse.

My second set, first with Rotex, and now with your Axxis metal masters, is holding up fine as well.

True dat! Irotors is the place to go, they can't do cryo treating last time I check, but they are great and for performance rotors noone touches their pricing, and most of the time they use Brembo blanks and do the drilling ad slotting themselves. As for pads I would recommend one of the following Raybestos Ceramic pads, EBC green pads, or Axis Metal Master pads.
